Susan Mayer is a forty something divorcee living with her 14-year-old daughter, Julie. Her romantic heart always has her looking for her next great love. Writing and illustrating children’s books has kept her around Wisteria Lane most days making it easy for her to keep an eye on neighborhood beau, Mike Delfino, her occasional boyfriend.

Gabrielle Solis, the youngest of the desperate housewives on Wisteria Lane, spent her early days climbing out of a desperate situation to become a glamorous runway model in New York where she met her husband, Carlos. She gave up her exciting life and married him on the spot, knowing that he would be able to provide everything she could ever want: an exquisite home, jet-setting vacations and a bottomless bank account. It was only after moving to suburbia that Gabrielle realized that perhaps she wanted all the wrong things.

Edie Britt is the neighborhood slut and proud of it. Her conquests, while legendary, have alienated her from the other women of Wisteria Lane. Her only friend came in the form of the town busy body, Martha Huber. The two shared an antagonistic relationship that sadly came to a tragic end when Martha was mysteriously murdered.

Bree Van de Kamp is a searing, uptight perfectionist. Her strong resolve and proper demeanor have caused tension in her marriage and home-life. As a mother of two teenagers, her icy cool nerves were often tested. She struggled to rein in her rebellious, and at times soulless son, Andrew, and fought to give her self-absorbed daughter, Danielle, a proper perspective on life.

Lynette Scavo was once best known as a savvy career woman, not a Desperate Housewife. In the work force she was an over-achiever who could accomplish any task, but those days came to an end when she and her husband, Tom, decided to have children. She gave up the working world and within six years had twin boys, a five year old son and a baby girl. Soon, she gained a new reputation as the mother of quite possibly the most unruly children ever born.

John C. McGinley relishes his chance to portray the gruff, worldly Dr. Perry Cox on the NBC comedy “Scrubs.” “As an actor, it’s great to play a strong leader with a heart of gold,” said McGinley. “Dr. Cox mentors the rookie doctors with a spoonful of dirt and then a cup of sugar. I see him as an archetypal descendant of two of my favorite curmudgeonly characters — Lou Grant and Louie De Palma.”

Donald Faison stars as Dr. Christopher Turk on NBC’s Emmy Award-nominated comedy, “Scrubs.” For his role as J.D’s best friend and sidekick, Faison was awarded the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series honor at the first annual BET Comedy Awards in 2004 and nominated for an NAACP Image Award in 2006.

Neil Flynn plays Sacred Heart Hospital’s menacing janitor in the NBC comedy series, “Scrubs.” Although Flynn initially auditioned for the role of Dr. Cox (which ultimately went to John C. McGinley), executive producer Bill Lawrence asked Flynn if he would consider another part – the mysterious custodian who makes tormenting young doctor J.D. (Zach Braff) his life’s work.

A versatile veteran of film, television and theater, Ken Jenkins portrays Sacred Heart Hospital’s caustic chief of medicine, Dr. Bob Kelso. “Although most people think my character is too rough on the interns,” said Jenkins, “I’ve been told by some people in the medical field that their ‘Dr. Bob’ was much tougher. I think the staff just doesn’t realize how hard Kelso’s job is.”

A fly-on-the-wall parody about modern American office life, “The Office” delves into the lives of the workers at Dunder Mifflin paper supply company in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Regional manager Michael Scott (Steve Carell, “The 40-Year-Old Virgin,” “Little Miss Sunshine”) is a single, middle-aged man who is the boastful tour guide.

With unshaken enthusiasm, Michael believes he is the office funnyman, a fountain of business wisdom and his employees’ cool friend. He has no clue that his employees tolerate his inappropriate behavior only because he signs their paychecks. Painstakingly trying to be liked and look cool, Michael comes off alternately absurd and pathetic. His prize possession is his “World’s Greatest Boss” mug — which he had to buy for himself.

Pam Beesly (Jenna Fischer, “Slither”) is the reasonable and friendly office receptionist who bears the brunt of Michael’s routines. The bright spots in Pam’s day are her conversations with Jim Halpert (John Krasinski, “Jarhead,” “Kinsey”), a likable sales rep with a good sense of humor who should have found a better job years ago, but is too comfortable with his office mates and routine to leave.

Jim shares his working space with Dwight Schrute (Rainn Wilson, “Six Feet Under”), the arrogant assistant to the regional manager. Dwight is intensely irritating to normal people while Jim spends a lot of time finding new, interesting ways to drive Dwight crazy.
